what did the Aztecs value?
Aztecs had many things they considered valuable to themselves. This includes cocoa beans, hot chili peppers and cornmeal. They also made special clothing and headdresses to wear. Most of the things they used though were bought from merchants, which sometimes merchants had to set out on foot and find these special things to bring back to their city. A unique bird called a Quetzal was especially admired for it’s bright colourful feathers. They would often use their feathers for headdresses.
Aztecs were also considered great farmers. They grew much of their own food and got some more exotic and tropical food from merchants who went out of the city and got them to bring back. They built many watering structures to help water their plants and growing crops in order for them to grow into food to eat. They also considered cocoa beans very valuable since they used them for currency.
Their Gods were probably most likely the greatest thing they valued. From human sacrifice to sacred ceremonies, Aztecs had many special things to show that they truly worshipped their Gods.
